4 A.M.

I was happy to see that Sebastien is now the new member of Scooter, replacing Phil Speiser. In the early days I loved the techno music of Scooter, especially due to the pitched vocals and (at the time) modern synth sounds, but it has become very quiet about Scooter. In the context of the new band setup, I listened to some old Scooter songs again and actually recognized the song “4 A.M.” for the first time and immediately fell in love with the melody and the beautiful energetic vocals of Jaje Marshall. Note the TV tower of Alexanderplatz in Berlin at the end of the video.

The melody of “4 A.M.” is based on the 1991 song “Promise Me” of Beverly Craven.

Scooter’s “4 A.M” is also using pitched vocal effect samples of the song “Million Voices” by Otto Knows.

Overall the song “4 A.M.” is a perfect combination/rework of both originals. And actually, since Sebastien is now in the band, it would be a perfect basis for a new Sebastien Remix – can’t wait!
